Hiking
Alpengasthof Draxler is the perfect starting point for various hikes and excursions in Forstau. You can find more than 50 kilometres of hiking trails and a wide range of varied tours to inspire both families (suitable for pushchairs) and demanding mountain lovers and in combination with traditional huts to stop by. Enjoy the experience surrounded by beautiful and varied nature.
A great experience is also Natur-Kneipp with various stations to stop at and investigate medicinal herbs in nature along the Forstauer Bachweg. There is also "Forsti's fitness path" with various fitness stations, suitable for children and adults.
Climbing and via ferrata
Via ferrata has become a very popular sport, there are routes that are secured with fixed ropes and iron pins. This type of climbing is accessible even to inexperienced climbers. When climbing you can enjoy the wonderful view of the breathtaking mountain scenery.
Mountain biking
For mountain bikers the Draxlerhof is surely the perfect location. You can explore a variety of routes within the extensive mountain bike network towards Forstau, Radstadt or Schladming. Whether a leisurely ride or strenuous mountain biking there is something for everyone.
Swimming pools and bathing lakes
In our vicinity there is the swimming lake in Pichl as well as in Schladming there is a swimming pool with indoor and outdoor pools. Furthermore, we can also recommend the Amade Spa in Altenmark.
Golfing
For golfers, the Golf & Country Club Dachstein Tauern in Haus im Ennstal and the Golfclub Radstadt Tauerngolf is just perfect. Both places provide the best conditions for beginners as well as for passionate golfers.

Due to the central location, within 3 km by car, you can reach the ski resort Reiteralm (Schladming) with the 4 Mountains Ski Area. As well as the family skiing Fageralm (Forstau) being just 3 kilometres away from us in the opposite direction. Please snow chain !
Near us is the Fageralm ski area, this resort offers a special flair with quaint huts and wide slopes perfect for families. For the really sporty Reiteralm is only a few minutes away from us. Cross-country skiing
Also for cross-country skiers we have the best conditions, We can offer 180 km of groomed trails. The 50 kilometre Tauernloipe (Radstadt, Altenmarkt, Flachau, Wagrain, Eben) and various beautiful mountain trails are definitely worth a visit. Glide along groomed trails through the snowy landscape and enjoy the tranquility in nature.
Sledging
The 6 kilometre long 8 Königslehen toboggan run in Radstadt is the longest toboggan run in the Salzburger ski area.
At the summit, you can stop off at the Sportalm and refuel for the descent. Evening operation is on Tuesday and Friday.
A toboggan ride on the Hochwurzen is really fun for everyone The run is suitable in the daytime for families and in the evening for adults, It is 7 km long, floodlit and as a highlight has many cosy huts and great après ski bars both along the way and when you finish.
Walks in the snow
Nothing is better than a leisurely walk in the crisp snow. In the village there are numerous winter hiking trails such as the romantic Bachweg in the evening. Also very popular is the guided lantern walk with ski instructor Gitti as well as snowshoeing in deep snow in Forstau.
